 Captain, Royal Navy 1800

Captain, Royal Navy 1800

To be assembled, glued and painted with 15 parts. 120mm Scale Resin & White Metal Kit
This figure depicts a post captain of the British Navy in 1800. Having epaulets on both shoulders indicates a post captain of more than 3 years seniority in the list. Other considerations apart, a captain posted earlier on the list would always have seniority over a captain posted later. C.S. Forrester's naval books, make this point several times.

 6 Pound Naval Gun 1800

6 Pound Naval Gun 1800

To be assembled, glued and painted with 26 parts 120mm Scale Resin & White Metal Kit
The smallest gun of the main armament, this weapon was mainly used on smaller ships such as frigates and brigs. Much lighter than its larger brethren, it needed a smaller crew and could fire at a far quicker rate.

The gun carriage is well detailed.

79th Foot Cameron Highlander Officer - Corunna 1802

To be assembled, glued and painted with 12 resin and 7 white metal parts
120mm Scale Resin & White Metal Kit
This figure is particularly colourful and has a dramatic active pose. For Napoleonic modellers following the battles in Spain of this era, this figure is a must. Ultimately, this series of battles ended in British and Portuguese forces being driven back behind the lines of Torres Vedras in Portugal. From that point, Napoleon was eventually driven out of Spain and finally imprisoned in Elba. The colours of many British regiments reflect these conflicts.

•Featuring Nelson & Sergeant Secker on the quarter deck of the of HMS Victory.

Sergeant Secker of the Royal Marines goes to the side of the fallen Nelson. Secker, aged 24, was the first person to reach the stricken Nelson and assist him down to the orlop deck. Nelson had been hit in the left shoulder from a musket shot fired from the mizzen top of the French ship Redoubtable. The admiral died from his wound some hours later.

"The Last Letter" Nelson Trafalgar 1805

To be assembled, glued and painted with 22 parts. 120mm Scale Resin & White Metal Kit
Nelson's last letter to Emma Hamilton was the final letter he penned before the battle of Trafalgar. It was unfinished and she received it only long after the battle had ended. Our model is based on the famous painting by Charles Lucy and shows Nelson in pensive mood, pondering what he would say to Emma. The letter's content is fully documented in histories of the occasion.

It was not possible to mould the quill pen in resin and this item is left to the interpretation of the modeller.

 Gunner, Royal Navy Trafalgar 1805

Gunner, Royal Navy Trafalgar 1805

To be assembled, glued and painted with 11 parts 120mm Scale Resin & White Metal Kit
This gunner wields a ramrod and sponge made from a short section of rope. The rammer was used to ram powder cartridges, felt wads and cannon balls into the gun barrel. The sponge, soaked in water, was designed to extinguish any bits of wad or cartridge which still smouldered in the barrel before reloading a fresh charge. Training and discipline enabled British gunners to maintain a much higher rate of fire than their contemporaries and this was a crucial factor at Trafalgar.

 Royal Marine Trafalgar 1805

Royal Marine Trafalgar 1805

To be assembled, glued and painted with 15 parts, Sculpted by Ken Brown
The Royal Marines performed a variety of roles in the Royal Navy. In battle they fought as sharpshooters but, unlike the French, not from the mast tops for fear of fire. They doubled as gun crews manning the various guns and provided the captain with a guard at his cabin door. They were the first line of defence of the ship and its officers in the dreaded event of mutiny.

 Gun Captain Trafalgar 1805

Gun Captain Trafalgar 1805

The gun captain was responsible for the laying of his gun, to ensure that shots were accurately aimed. He controlled the gun crew and was responsible to a midshipman or a lieutenant for the effective fighting of his gun under battle conditions. These were the crew members most responsible for the disciplined and rapid firing of the Victory's armament at Trafalgar. Their gunnery was far superior to the relatively untrained French and Spaniards.

 32 Pound Gun 1805

32 Pound Gun 1805 "It's Big"

To be assembled, glued and painted with several small parts 30 parts 120mm Scale Resin & White Metal Kit
The main armament of the Victory, carried and fought on the lower gun deck, this gun was massive. It beggarrs belief that this huge weight of iron and wood could be serviced and then run out by muscle power alone. To imagine Hell itself, only requires consideration to be given to the lower gun deck on Victory during the battle of Trafalgar.

Our model conveys a sense of this massiveness, particularly when seen against the other cannon. The model is well detailed and the cipher on the gun barrel has come out particularly well.

Our cannons are based on authentic drawings approved by the Curator of the Victory.

 Seaman Royal Navy Trafalgar 1805

Seaman Royal Navy Trafalgar 1805

To be assembled, glued and painted from 9 parts, 120 mm Scale resin and White Meatl Kit.
This figure indicates the wide variety of dress adopted by the gun crews on Victory. They universally had bare feet, one to avoid slipping on a wet deck and two to avoid any possibility of a spark with the inevitable spillage of powder grains. This model shows a crewman equipped with a worm, designed to allow the extraction of wads or other obstruction left in the gun barrel. The superiority of British naval gunnery was maintained by trained members of the gun team dealing with any eventuality that might interfere with the continuous firing of the gun.

 Marine Royal Navy 1805

Marine Royal Navy 1805

To be assembled, glued and painted from 13 parts
This figure is depicted in action during the Battle. His right foot rests on a piece of shattered spar and he is cocking his musket ready to fire another ball. His uniform is dirtied by his involvement in the action but it is still easy to imagine him on parade, with his brasses polished and his belts pipe clayed. His sideburns and coarse features mark him out as a member of the crew on the lower decks.

 Naval Lieutenant 1805

Naval Lieutenant 1805

To be assembled, glued and painted from small parts, This model shows an officer in an action pose, perhaps preparing to repel boarders. His uniform carries the grime to be expected in battle and his face shows the determination vital to winning a hand to hand fight. On the deck appears the flotsam of rigging damaged by gunfire and it must have been easy to lose one's footing, with fatal effect, on a cluttered deck.

Midshipman Royal Navy 1805

To be assembled, glued and painted from several small parts. 120mm Scale Resin & White Metal Kit

Sometimes as young as twelve, Midshipmen were the nursery from which officers eventually evolved. Nominally in charge of mature hard bitten warrant officers and crewmen, it is easy to understand that those who made the grade made became outstanding.

Our model depicts a young midshipman, with his speaking trumpet to overcome the noise of battle, working to coordinate the activities of gun crews.

Colonial Gun Crew Trafalgar 1805

To be asssembled, glued and painted from small parts - 120mm Scale Resin & White Metal Kit
All able bodied men were grist to the mill that was the Royal Navy in the Napoleonic era and many coloured people from the colonies were pressed into the service.

Our model is depicted as a gun crew member and the kit allows for his arms to be modified so that he can fulfill several tasks in the role. For example, he can be made so that he hauls on a rope.

64 Pound Carronade Trafalgar 1805

PLEASE NOTE DECK AND TACKLE ARE NOT INCLUDED
To be assembled, glued and painted - 120mm Scale Resin & White Metal Kit
This massive and fearsome weapon was carried on the foredeck of the Victory at Trafalgar. It was a short range gun which could throw a 64 pound cannonball or an assorted mass of bits of metal of various sizes. It was an antipersonnel gun in essence, rather like a gigantic blunderbuss and could clear a deck section of the enemy with ease. Our model is complete with a scale elevating screw and the carriage has side facing castors to allow the gun to be trained in azimuth.

 Powder Monkey

Powder Monkey "Trafalgar 1805"

To be assembled, glued and painted - 12 resin parts.
120mm Scale Resin & White Metal Kit
This figure was designed to complement our Trafalgar series of kits. It also provides a stand alone subject. It gives some idea of the distance that society has travelled in the two hundred years since Trafalgar. To us it is inconceivable that children, ten or twelve years of age, could be exploited among the horrors of the gun decks of a Ship of the line in battle. In a similar way their contemporaries were sent up chimneys. Our figure points up the poignancy of these children's lives.

Our kit includes a powder charge and shot for location on the base.

Wounded Sailor and Marine, Trafalgar 1805

This two figure model can be made up as a vignette as the deck and damaged deck wall all comes with the kit or the figures can be added to a deck diorama as can be seen in our pictures.

The model is a conversion from the existing Victory Miniatures range of naval figures by Mike Wilkinson this has enabled us to keep the cost at a very reasonable £38.00 and as can be seen really gives some extra atmosphere to a model, equally it looks really good as a vignette.
