Model Shipways Launching ways are used to support a vessel onshore and launch it by sliding down an inclined slipway, usually stern first. Displaying a model boat or ship on launching ways is an excellent approach and is most suitable for a model without sails.
The Model Shipways launching ways are easily assembled and optionally may be attached to a display board (not included in the Launching Ways kit.) Using your additional materials, the launching ways display can be expanded as much as your imagination allows you to create a mini-diorama of boatyard activity.
The Model Expo Launching Ways kits are available in three sizes:
1/4" square timbers for model scales of 1:24 to 1:32
3/16” square timbers for model scales of 1:48 to 1:64
1/8” square timbers for model scales of 1:76 to 1:96 or smaller
All three of the kits accommodate models up to 22” hull length.
