The IST-L steam engines are suitable for model boats up to about 100 cm in length. Each set contains the 2-cylinder steam engine for forward and reverse running, a hard-soldered, timber-clad brass boiler with burner, water level indicator and pressure guage, gas tank and associated tubing.

Graupner 2 Cylinder Marine Steam Engine

Graupner 2 Cylinder Marine Steam Engine

 The steam engine is suitable for powering ship models of the paddler type, as well as those driven by marine propellers. In the latter case two gear wheels and a shaft will be required additionally, which are not included in the kit proper. The various assembly groups of the steam engine have to be assembled and bolted together, respectively, as per instructions.
All parts come soldered where necessary. The boiler is heated with butane gas. Gas consumption approx. 20 g for an engine run of approx. 25 minutes.
