Occre Las Ramblas Delivery Cart 1:10

Las Ramblas Delivery Cart 1:10 Scale

Occre Las Ramblas
At the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th Century, it was common to see delivery vehicles driving around the streets, much like today's modern vans, as they transported different consumer goods, fabrics, milk, bread, beverages, etc. to the businesses and shops, or as in our model, directly to the customer. In addition to their primary function for the delivery of merchandise, they were also commonly used for advertising purposes, where they competed with each other to display the brightest colours, paying meticulous attention to the typography and the design to capture the pedestrian's attention about the products they were transporting.

Occre Barcelona Taxi 1:10

Barcelona Taxi 1:10 Scale

Occre Barcelona Taxi
These types of carriages were primarily used to transport passengers in the cities at the end of the 19th Century. Inspired by the “Berliner” or Sedan cars, they were developed around 1880 in the United States where they were called gondolas; from there they travelled to Cuba and then on to Spain, primarily in Barcelona were they were used as cars for hire (taxi). Its main feature was the hood which is prolonged on the postillion or driver seat, which was located at the same height as the passengers. This is what distinguished it from similar carriages of that epoch such as the sedan or the cabriole, in which the postillion was higher and uncovered.

Occre Tibidabo Tram
The “Tramvía Blau” tram is, at the present time, the oldest operational tramline in Europe, still running the same route as on the date of her inauguration back in 1901, in all that time never having ceased to provide a service to the public. From her inauguration, back in 1901, up to 1979 she belonged to Sociedad Anónima Tibidabo and then, in 1981, was taken over by the TMB (Barcelona Metropolitan Transport). The present model was built in 1904, has a capacity for 48 passengers, 32 sitting in crossways double seats, plus another 16 standing on her platforms. The actual tram weighs 9,650 kg, is fitted with two 45 HP electric motors, two breaks, one chain operated and the other electric, and is capable of reaching a top speed of 13.5 kph.

Occre Cibeles Tram 1:24

Cibeles Tram 1:24 Scale

Occre Cibeles Tram
The “Cibeles” model represents a Madrid tram belonging to the C.E.M.T. (Madrid Electric Traction Company). These trams were originally painted red, which was why people called them “cangrejos” (crabs), a nickname that has stuck until the present day, despite the fact that way back in 1908, when they were brought from the C.E.M.T. by the Sociedad General, the colour was changed to yellow The “cangrejo” is a tram from 1901, belonging to the series 1-20. It could carry 15 passengers sitting in crossways wooden benches, 7 standing on the driver’s platforms and 10 on the other. She was fitted with 2 A-B-60 Schuckert 30 HP electric motors. Each tram was manned by a driver and a conductor.

Occre Lisboa Tram 1:24

Lisboa Tram 1:24 Scale

Occre Lisboa Tram
This tram was originally part of the 701/735 series, of the Compañía de Carris de Ferro de Lisboa, which built them between 1936 and 1940. These trams were considered the safest in Lisbon as they were fitted with a reinforced braking system and were used for the lines covering the most difficult routes, such as 12, 25 or 28, with ramps of up to 12%, which were also the steepest slopes in the world for simple adherence tram lines.
The tram is fitted with five types of brake, pneumatic, mechanical, electric, electromagnetic with shoes and mechanical with shoes. Each tram was also fitted with two powerful, 45 HP, Metropolitan Vickers electric motors and a Brill 21-E type truck, built by Maley & Tauton.
The body is of the standard Lisbon type, based on American Brill designs, with its most notable characteristic being the sharply cambered roof. The tram maintained its original design up until 1985-1987, when the series was reformed and adapted for a single driver/conductor, pneumatically operated doors were installed along with flashing lights and the street-side doors were sealed off.
After 1995 the original trams gradually started to be replaced with remodelled Series 500 trams, although a number of units were maintained in operational conditions for charter services and occasional substitutions on the regular lines.

Occre San Francisco Cable Car 1:24

San Francisco Cable Car 1:24 Scale

Occre San Francisco Cable Car
San Francisco’s cable cars are an authentic icon of the city. The first cable cars of this kind were brought into operation in London and, many years later, on 2nd August 1873, Andrew S. Hallidie introduced the first San Francisco cable car, on the Clay Street line. 136 years later these attractive vehicles are still running on the streets of San Francisco and form an essential part of the city’s daily life.
The system is based on a cable that is pulled at a constant velocity, along the whole route, by a stationery engine. The cable car starts to move when a device, called a grip, is engaged under pressure to the cable. By loosening this grip, and at the same time applying the breaks, the car is brought to a halt.

En 1983, 106 was taken to the Crich Village National Tramway Museum, in Derbyshire, where it remains to this day, having covered over 10,000 miles transporting passengers. It was originally powered by Dick Kerr motors, type DK25A, providing 25 hp, which were replaced in 1927 by Westinghouse motors, type 220, providing 42 hp. It was originally fitted with handbrakes on the wheels and rheostatic braking through the motors. In 1908 magnetic track brakes were fitted.

Occre Stephensons Rocket 1:24

Stephensons Rocket 1:24 Scale

Occre Stephensons Rocket
In 1829 the Liverpool and Manchester Railway held the Rainhill Trials to find the best locomotive for their line. The winner, from a field of five entries, was George Stephenson and his Rocket.
This locomotive, which only weighed 4.2 tons, had a multi-tubular boiler, almost 6 ft long with a diameter of 3 ft 4 in, that was of great efficiency in terms of heat transfer.
The pistons, in the cylinders, which were set at an inclined position, were coupled up to 4 ft 8 in diameter drive wheels, and she was capable of reaching speeds of up to 25 mph.
Because of her characteristics, the Rocket was the first useful and practical locomotive in terms of transporting passengers and goods, launching a new age in the history of transport.

Occre BR-18 Locomotive 1:32

BR-18 Locomotive 1:32 Scale

Occre BR-18 Locomotive
The BR 18.4 was designed and built at the J. A. Maffei workshops in Munich, with the first one being delivered on 16th July 1908. The axle layout is of the "Pacific" type with large diameter wheels.
At that time it was the biggest engine ever to be built by this manufacturer and is still considered "the most beautiful locomotive of the German railways".
The S 3/6 performed excellently on long distance routes, in 1951 pulling a train of 150 tonnes over a distance of 180 kilometres, from Hamburg to Munich, only stopping to top up on water. The “S” is for "Schnellzuglocomotiven" (long-distance train) and 3/6 is the number of drive axles compared with total axles. These locomotives were mainly used on long-distance lines in Bavaria, although they also pulled such famous trains as the Orient Express and Rheingold, the Ostend-Vienna Express or the Paris-Carlsbad-Prague Express.
Multiple variations were applied throughout this locomotive’s history, mainly in terms of the cab, boiler and engine mechanisms.

Originally these coaches were designed for the local commuter trains that covered the Catalonian coastal routes, originally known as “Coches de la Costa” (Coastal Coaches), which was later changed to the definitive “Costa” Their predecessors were the Harland and St. Denis coaches, with the former, produced by VVB (Valls-Vilanova-Barcelona), being the fist coaches in Europe to be fitted with bogies. These types of coaches remained in service up until 1971, when the Spanish railway company finally decided to get rid of the last of their wooden coaches.
