Graupner Model Boat Kits

Graupner's range of RC boats are a very good quality range of model boat kits. Graupner kits are made with either ABS or GRP hulls with plastic and brass fittings. The fitting kits on some models are sold separately and are available to purchase either at the time of ordering or at a later stage. Full size Plan sheets and building instructions in English are included.

Graupner list their recommended options for the kits, these are available in the relevant sections of our catalogue, and range from Drive units to Electric Motors and Steam Engines. We are also starting to incorporate downloadable pdf documents detailing Graupners recommended options for each kit. We also offer complete tailor made hardware packages for these model, these can be found under the related products.

Graupner Atlantic Challenger
In 1986 the English aviation industrialist Richard Branson crossed the Atlantic in a new record time of 80 hours and 31 minutes in his 21.95 m long "Virgin Atlantic Challenger". However, the Americans refused him the trophy, as the "Virgin" was not a passenger vessel, had been refuelled en route, and was not in regular line service. In response Branson inaugurated a new cup: the "Virgin Atlantic Trophy", which is awarded to the vessel which crosses the Atlantic the fastest by any means.

Scale model of a 23m cruiser based on original drawings supplied by the Deutsche Gesellschaft zurRettung Schiffbruchiger (German Association for the Rescue of the Shipwrecked - www.dgzrs.de).
The ocean-going rescue cruiser was christened Bernhard Gruben on 16.10.1997, after the foreman of the Alfried Krupp who was lost at sea during a mission in 1995.

The daughter boat Johann Fidi(II) was christened in memory of the Rass family of Norderney, which had provided several generations of lifeboat crew members. Please note: The daughter boat Johann Fidi is not included in the set, but is available separately under Order No. G2027.100

It is a new, innovative design whose general shape and layout mark it out from the usual run of German official vessels. The boat which was drawn up using the latest knowledge of high-speed boat design, is based on the concept of "Deep-Vee" planing boats which are used for off-shore racing.

Bugsier 3 was one of the first harbour tugs to be operated by the Bugsier-Reederei & Bergungs Aktiengesellschaft of Hamburg. Bugsier 3 is a highly maneouverable ship, equipped with a powerful engine. It has been designed for towing and warping other ships. Compared with today's more stream-lined tugboats, Bugsier 3 looks rather conventional.
Its two big masts and the rather angular shape of the superstructure give the boat a personal and functional, yet particularly attractive touch of its own.

Micromagic is based on the relatively small one-man yachts which compete in trans-Atlantic regattas. The modern design of the hull, keel, rudder and rig endow the boat with high-performance sailing characteristics in light to moderate winds combined with simple handling. The boat´s compact size solves all manner of transport problems. Although the model is within most people´s modelling budgets and is very easy to build, MICRO MAGIC is quite capable of providing “real” sailing fun for young and old, beginner and advanced skipper alike. A new feature - unprecedented in a kit model is the variable position keel (fore and aft direction), which enables the operator to adjust the model very quickly to suit varying sailing conditions, and to meet with the operator's personal preferences.
The revised keel fin and rudder are of slightly reduced area and thinner profiles in order to reduce water resistance. The slightly heavier ballast bulb is also longer, resulting in enhanced directional stability.

Rubin

The Rubin yachts belonging to the President of the DSV (German Sailing Association) H.O. Schuermann have been a constant feature of the German and international offshore sailing scene for many years. Way back in 1973 a German team consisting of Rubin together with Saudade and Carina was the first to win the Admiral´s Cup, the unofficial World Championships in the sport of offshore sailing. B-24 Nimbus Scale

Graupner B24
This boat was developed by Ocke Mannerfelt and is the result of protracted aerodynamic research aimed at achieving best possible performance. It has been awarded two design prizes and is patented. The newly designed double-step hull bottom features patented speed rails: specially designed stringers which distribute the air-enriched water under the bottom of the boat and thereby reduce the wetted area. The boat planes over the water on a layer of "air lubrication" evenly distributed over the hull surface. The boat is extremely slim in an effort to minimise air resistance. The lateral wings on the hull produce upthrust due to their profile and also due to ground effect. The model is based on the original drawings and is moulded using all-GRP technology, with the exception of the driver's cabin.

The PX-1 racing catamaran is a semi-scale model boat capable of speeds of 40 to 60 km / hr or even more, depending on the motors installed.
