Graupner Bremen 9 WSP Marine Police Long Distance Boat 1:20 Scale Kit for Radio Control This new long-distance boat, the Bremen 9, was commissioned in December 1992 by the Marine Police of the Free Hanseatic town of Bremen. It is a new, innovative design whose general shape and layout mark it out from the usual run of German official vessels. The boat which was drawn up using the latest knowledge of high-speed boat design, is based on the concept of "Deep-Vee" planing boats which are used for off-shoreracing. On its very first run the boat achieved a speed of over 30 knots, easily exceeding the design brief of 27 knots. The hull lines indicate a maximum speed potential of over 45 knots. The Bremen 9's unusual size makes it suitable as a long-distance vessel in the harsh environment of the waters around sea coasts as well as in the shipping lanes, usually known as the inland waters. The boat's forecastle mounts a fire-fighting cannon capable of firing 400 litres of water per minute.
Graupners semi-scale model of the Bremen 9 WSP long-distance boat was drawn up to a scale of 1:20 from drawings provided by the manufacturer F. Fassmer & Co. of Berne. Like the original vessel it possesses very attractive running characteristics and can achieve an impressive top speed and a running time of around 15 minutes. The comprehensive detail fittings will please the more demanding boat modeller, and give the model a realistic scale appearance. In addition to the two basic functions of rudder and speed control of the two drive motors, the model is designed to be fitted with a working water cannon and working lighting system
A large number of high-quality ready-made components make for quick and easy building. Hull, stern cradle, cabin superstructure and other parts are supplied as vacuum-mouldings in high-strength ABS plastic. The cabin superstructure is trimmed on CNC machines: all windows and other openings are machine-cut. The plywood deck and other wooden components are accurately die-stamped to size. The extensive fittings set (available separately) contains injection-moulded parts for the working fire monitor, working lighting system, anchor, bollards, lifebelts, fenders, railing stanchions and other fittings all of which shorten the building time considerably.
Pack contents: Quick-build plans, building instructions in German English and French.
