Graupner Bernhard Gruben Ocean Going Rescue Cruiser 1:20 Scale Kit for Radio Control The Bernhard Gruben is a scale model of a 23 m cruiser based on original drawings supplied by the Deutsche Gesellschaft zurRettung Schiffbruchiger (German Association for the Rescue of the Shipwrecked - www.dgzrs.de).
The ocean-going rescue cruiser was christened Bernhard Gruben on 16.10.1997, after the foreman of the Alfried Krupp who was lost at sea during a mission in 1995.
The daughter boat Johann Fidi(II) was christened in memory of the Rass family of Norderney, which had provided several generations of lifeboat crew members.
The daughter boat can be operated as an independently controlled model.
Since 05.08.1997 the Bernhard Gruben has been stationed at the Norderney rescue base.
