Graupner 2 Cylinder Marine Steam Engine

 The steam engine is suitable for powering ship models of the paddler type, as well as those driven by marine propellers. In the latter case two gear wheels and a shaft will be required additionally, which are not included in the kit proper. The various assembly groups of the steam engine have to be assembled and bolted together, respectively, as per instructions.
All parts come soldered where necessary. The boiler is heated with butane gas. Gas consumption approx. 20 g for an engine run of approx. 25 minutes.

Electronic Gas Controller for Steam Engine

Electronic Gas Controller for Steam Engine

 The controller can be used to set the pressure in the steam boiler to a particular level. Pre-set steam pressures are 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, 3.5 bar. Once the pressure is set, the controller automatically adjusts the gas supply to obtain the required steam pressure, in order to set the level of power required.
If the water level in the boiler is too low and the steampressure falls below 0.7 bar, the controller switches the burner to minimum power. "Opening the throttle" is then only possible after a manual reset.
